April 5, 2006
Holy Week approaches who can believe it?! This Sunday, April 9th is Palm Sunday. We will be receiving new members in church this Sunday, so plan on giving them a hearty welcome!
On April 13 we will be having a Maundy Thursday Service (7:00 p.m.) that will be similar to last years service. After a light meal (soup and bread), we will celebrate the sacrament around the dinner tables, and then move to the chapel for a brief, reflective conclusion to our worship. People who attended last year (about 40) found the service most meaningful.
Easter Sunday will have us starting with the "Almost Sunrise" Service (7:30 a.m.) brought to you by our most excellent Christian Educators. Breakfast will follow. The Easter Service (10:00 a.m.) on April 16th will consist primarily of music, a brief sermon (OK most of my sermons are brief, so that may be nothing new), and a bit of liturgy celebrating the Resurrection.
Attending the Palm Sunday and Maundy Thursday services will make your Easter Celebration more meaningful, so I encourage you to attend all three if at all possible.
