On Saturday, April 3 2021, we celebrated the beginning of Earth Month with a "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" Spring Cleaning Celebration! A truck in our parking lot turned sensitive documents into shredded paper to be completely recycled. Donations for that service were gathered to benefit Change is Simple, an early education program teaching environmental sustainability. We were also collecting gently used small household items and new bedding for Mission of Deeds in Reading. Tips on where to recycle other items were available there and here under "Spring Cleaning Tip Sheets" below.
In addition to these collections, Equal Exchange Fair Trade coffee, chocolate, tea and other goods were available for purchase, a raffle prize was given out every half hour and people who donated in any way were given a homemade (thank you Lisa!) Earth cookie!
